CLIMATE VOTER RESOURCES

Now more than ever, local and state elections matter for climate action

Watch for expanded Climate Voter Resources: coming summer 2026!

In both 2022 and 2024, our GR Climate Coalition helped our supporters and residents all over Grand Rapids and Kent County turn out to vote and make informed voting decisions. We want everyone in our community to have access to information about where candidates stand on issues of climate and environmental justice.

We want to raise climate higher on peoples' list of voting priorities. And we want to make it easier for the community to elect officials who will step up and deliver strong and equitable climate policy — and hold them accountable if they don't. (Note: GR Climate Coalition has never endorsed any candidates.)

In the last two local elections have done this through:

1. Candidate Responses to survey questions on climate and environmental issues. (See examples from 2024: City of Grand Rapids Mayor and Commissioner races and Kent County Commissioner races).

2. Lawn Signs — you may have seen our 'Climate Voter' signs around town. They'll be back for 2026. (If you already have one, pull it out.)
